What would Jesus Say?

If we had the opportunity to ask Jesus the question, “What would you want us to teach and proclaim on this new website?” He would likely answer as follows:

  • I did all that my Father asked of me to show Him I loved him with all of my heart, mind and strength and you are asked to do the same and to love your neighbor as yourself.

  • Please share the true identity of my Father, how He is different and “greater than I” and how I, prior to my death, resurrection and exaltation shared the same nature as every one of you but overcame the grip of death with the help of my Father.

  • I went to the cross for your sins that you might have an opportunity to repent and be forgiven and be baptized to publicly show a recognition that the “old man or woman” has died and the “new man or woman” is committed to a renewed and transformed life.

  • You can have the confidence that I will be with you and help you overcome temptations, sustain you in adversity and deal with the troubling vagaries of everyday life. My yoke is easy and my burden is light.

  • My task since I have been exalted to be with my Father is to prepare you for the time when I will return to the earth and begin the process of turning this world upside down and restoring it to the peaceful and loving kingdom that my Father designed it to be in the beginning.

  • I want you to be part of a group; a group that will support each other, strengthen each other and help each other to become kingdom people, right now, before I return and gather you to grant you life eternal and a place in that age to come.

This brief overview of What Would Jesus Say is of course imaginative. We would not expect Jesus to talk with us today in the manner presented above. However, we do have the Bible, an authoritative series of books where numerous prophets speak of Jesus and where his actual words and teachings were recorded and later referenced by apostles and teachers. Their goal was crystal clear, to spread the “gospel of the kingdom and the things concerning Jesus” to the ends of the earth.
